Match Preview from Mike Wray

There’s another important playoff chasing game ahead this coming Saturday, as we host Bracknell Town at the Webbswood Stadium, kick off 3:00pm.

Marine 6th P37-W19-D8-L10 65pts
Bracknell Town 2nd P36-W20-D6-L7 75Pts

Playoffs, cup runs and postponements have ensured there’s an exciting conclusion to the 2022/23 campaign and with our visitors facing three big games this week which could alter the race for the playoff places, it’ll certainly be a nail-biting time for everyone involved on the field as well as off it!

The Robins saw a small dent to their playoff aspirations on Tuesday evening when they suffered a 2-1 defeat at rivals Hayes & Yeading United, but returned to winning ways with a late winner to defeat Metropolitan Police 3-2 last night (Thursday). It is due to their cup heroics earlier this campaign that Jamie McClurg’s side have a hectic final month and have to also play next midweek on Bank Holiday Monday and Wednesday evening!

After winning last night (Thursday) Bracknell head to Wiltshire in second place on 75 points, while Marine maintained their playoff push midweek with another decent performance which culminated with a 3-0 win over Plymouth Parkway.

Matchday Experience:

We welcome Liden U6’s to the Webbswood Stadium on Saturday afternoon for our massive game, and we hope that all the players, coaches and any family and friends who come along, enjoy their visit. We know that other Liden sides have brought the noise when they’ve come to games this season – so we hope you can bring the noise too!

We’re looking forward to seeing you before the game for your tour of the Webbswood Stadium and fingers crossed the rain will hold off so as we can get you on the pitch to play an exhibition game at half time in front of the crowd!

30th Anniversary Exhibition:

Supporters are invited to join us in the Community Room ahead of the match as we open our 30th Anniversary Exhibition which celebrates three decades of our existence and charts all the key people and events which got us to where we are today!
