CARSHALTON ATHLETIC PREVIEW

THE KITCHEN WILL BE OPEN FOR TAKAWAY FOOD & DRINKS BUT UNFORTUNATELY THE BAR WILL BE CLOSED

Swindon Supermarine return to action this Saturday 12th December at the Webbswood Stadium for a 3pm kick off in the FA Trophy 2nd Round against Isthmian Premier Division side Carshalton Athletic.

After defeating Highworth Town and Dorchester Town last Saturday in the previous rounds, both 3-2, the Robins of Carshalton Athletic visit under boss Peter Adeniyi. Carshalton play in the Isthmian Premier Division where they sit in fourth place currently having finished third in the curtailed season last year so are sure to be a tough opposition.

They have also won their two previous rounds by scoring 3 goals in each game, 3-1 over Merstham away and 3-0 last weekend at home to Barking. Key men are top scorers this term David Fisher and Omar Korona with 5 goals a piece. Keeper Eddie Allan, who was sent off last weekend against Barking, had his appeal upheld in the week by the FA so will be available for selection.

This will be the first ever meeting of the two sides in any competition. The winner of the tie will face an away trip to National League South opposition next Saturday in Bath City or Chelmsford City who play their 2nd Round tie on Tuesday evening.

TEAM NEWS

Team news ahead of the game is that everyone is fit and available although Lee Marshall has gone out on loan to Longlevens and Rhys Wells is with Chipping Sodbury to get some essential game time.

KEV’S TAKE

Assistant manager Kev Milsom said “It’s a great home draw. We really wanted it to be on a Saturday so that suits everyone fine. They will be a good side but we know if we play well we are capable of beating anybody at our level. If we do progress we have a free week of preparation ahead of the next round on Saturday 19th December. Hopefully we can get a few through the gate again to provide much needed revenue. We played well last Saturday and we deserved our win. We passed the ball well, and could easily have been out of sight by halftime. “

PRINTED PROGRAMME

As usual we will be printing a matchday programme which will be on sale at the turnstile entrance, cost just £2.

ADMISSION COSTS

£10 Adults, £6 Concessions, U12s Free when accompanied by an adult.
