The Board and Associates Meeting with the New Management team - Saturday 31st May 2025

A few snippets from the meeting on Saturday with Bobby and his team.

Introductions

New management team Bobby Wilkinson, Mike Percival and Lea Barkus introduced themselves. They have worked together over many years. They bring a wealth of experience and an impressive record of accomplishment.

Player recruitment for 2025/26

The player recruitment process started from the moment they joined the club. It is clear a strong playing squad is being assembled. Things that helped them with recruitment include the club’s positive reputation, the quality of the ground, and the excellent training facilities.

Management team ethos

Bobby outlined the standards he has in terms of his expectations of players, his management team, and general club standards. Chairman Jez Webb emphasised how it will be immensely important that all those involved with the club get fully behind the management team.

Young players

Bobby was very much of the view that developing young players is important. He cited examples where he had achieved this. He added that in developing young players you do need to protect their wellbeing.

Pre-season friendlies

A full programme of pre-season friendlies has been drawn up. These fixtures will be publicised via the club’s social media. Please come along and support the team.

Supporter engagement

The management team are eager to engage with supporters. They would like to invite supporters to an open training session followed by a question and answer session in the clubhouse. At this event an update on club developments will be provided. Details of this event will appear on social media and the club’s website.

Closing thoughts

Bobby and his management team are highly motivated and have a clear sense of vision. Last season’s relegation is the past. As a club we now need to focus on the future – as the saying goes “a setback is a set up for a comeback.” Let the comeback journey begin.
