Club Statement from the Board / May 7th 2026

Having paused for breath, following a hectic schedule at the end of the 2025/26 season, we want to provide a brief update on our plans.

Firstly, to our incredible fans. Your passion and support has been simply outstanding this season, both at the Imagine Cruising Stadium and on the road. There have been several away days when Supermarine supporters seemed to outnumber the home fans! A sincere ‘thank you’, for your continued loyalty and support. We know it has been hugely appreciated by Bobby and the players.

Our thanks must also go to Bobby and his wider management team, who have brought together and galvanised a squad of players, who delivered a good season on the pitch despite facing some significant challenges. We have been particularly pleased with the regular and open communication Bobby has provided, to the board, players and fans alike - and we know this has gone a long way to bringing everyone together following a difficult previous campaign.

We also share our thanks and appreciation to every player who wore the Supermarine shirt during the season. The squad have conducted themselves in a manner befitting any professional team and have trained hard, pulled together and worn the badge with pride – while providing some memorable moments on the pitch including some heroic defending and fantastic goals.

We consider our final league position a positive achievement, acknowledging the huge turn-around of players we experienced during the preseason, and we are genuinely excited to see where this group can take us in the coming season. We know Bobby is looking to build around the existing squad, with a number of positive additions, and we are fully behind him.

Swindon Supermarine FC is, first and foremost, a community club, largely run by volunteers - including the board - who give up a considerable amount of time and energy to provide an experience we can all enjoy and feel proud of. We thank and acknowledge every volunteer who continues to support the club. We would not be able to operate or provide the welcoming environment we are known for, without you.

As communicated at the start of last season, this was the final campaign with Jez Webb as our Chairman. We all know what Jez has done for this club and we will be acknowledging him in various ways over the coming months. The good news is, Jez has agreed to remain on the board, and will continue to provide valuable experience and advice – as well as significant financial backing, which alongside support from our valued sponsors, has helped us provide a competitive budget for 2026/27.

Over recent months the board has been evolving. A small number of new people – bringing a range of experience and skills – have joined more long-established members. We all share a belief that the club must be sustainable to be successful and that we want to share and enjoy our future successes together with our supporters, volunteers, sponsors and the wider community.

We will be making more announcements soon, including our exciting preseason friendly schedule, as part of a wider commitment to renew and improve fan engagement. Supporters who have joined our recent Fan Forums, or attended our end of season presentation evening – or have been enjoying the video post-match interviews - will recognise the effort going into developing our communication.

Thank you again for your support. Bobby is already hard at work planning friendlies and training and we are so excited about seeing you for the new season. In the meantime, we wish you an enjoyable break until we’re back on the pitch!

Up the Marine!
