Swindon Supermarine entertain Dorchester Town this Saturday, kick off 3pm, at The Webbswood Stadium with Manager Lee Spalding looking for his players to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat at Gosport Borough with a strong performance writes Nick Taylor.

With the visitors arriving off the back of a confidence boosting 6-1 home thrashing of basement boys Staines Town, Marine need to get back to winning ways having not experienced the taste of three points since their outstanding 3-1 away win at Harrow Borough on Saturday 19th January.

Spalding’s side sit mid-table in eleventh place on 40 points from their 30 matches played so far, whilst ‘The Magpies’ are only three points behind their hosts but find themselves fifteenth in the standings and will be keen to elevate themselves up the rankings and away from the dreaded drop-zone.

The two sides previously met at the impressive Avenue Stadium back on Tuesday 18th December, when Marine triumphed on the artificial surface, winning 3-0, thanks to strikes from Henry Spalding, Conor McDonagh and Brad Hooper.

Exeter City loanee striker Ben Seymour should be looking forward to his trip to Wiltshire having bagged four goals for Bideford Town on his last visit to The Webbswood Stadium and the Marine defence will also need to keep a keen eye on Antonio Diaz. He smashed in a hat-trick against doomed Staines Town last weekend.

Marine forward Josh Parsons returned to action last week at Gosport. He came on as a second half substitute having been out injured for several months and will be available for selection along with central midfielder Jamie Edge who missed the trip to Gosport last Saturday. Also missing will be long term injuries, defender Ash Taylor, goalkeeper Josh Hill and forward Brady Gray, but all are in light training under the supervision of our Physio team.
