JAMES GUTHRIE SIGNS FROM CHIPPENHAM TOWN
Swindon Supermarine Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder James Guthrie from National League South side Chippenham Town. He had played for Chippenham for the past eight seasons having signed from Highworth Town in 2011 but has now decided to move to Marine after Lee Spalding spoke with him a couple of days ago.
James is an experienced player having been part of the Chippenham Town side that won the Southern League Premier Division Championship four seasons ago and has played regularly for them in the National Conference South for the past three seasons.
Manager Lee Spalding commented, “I believe we are bringing in another experienced midfielder who has played in the National League and will undoubtedly bring that experience to Marine as we look to continue building for success in the Southern League.”
“Along with the chairman’s support, with whom this signing wouldn’t have been possible, we are very happy that after a few days of negotiations we have now managed to sign him on a Southern League form for Swindon Supermarine FC today. He will join the rest of the squad for training tonight in preparation for Saturday’s trip to league leaders Tiverton Town.”
