Liam Angel is finally a Marine Player

Swindon Supermarine are delighted to final announce that defender, Liam Angel’s international clearance, has finally been received after a fortnight of waiting!

The 25-year-old joins the ranks here at Marine after starting his career at Cardiff City’s Academy before joining Newport County and making his debut for them at 17-years-old.

The defender has also featured for Cinderford Town and Yate Town before he signed for Merthyr Town in 2022 and was a part of the side that helped The Martyrs to a 6th placed finish last season.

Head coach Stuart Fleetwood told club media “Ange is a player I’ve played with and coached. He is a terrific defender at this level and he will suit our style and our club principles. He’s a real leader who will give everything to the cause. We have gained an excellent addition to an already talented squad. I’m very excited to welcome Liam to the club”.
