MERTHYR PREVIEW

Marine manager Lee Spalding says Merthyr Town will provide his side with a very difficult job in securing three valuable points on New Years Day. The Martyrs showed their capabilities back in August on another Bank Holiday when they won 3-1 with now departed Kane Simpson scoring our consolation goal.

Marine haven’t played a League game since their 2-0 win at Wimborne on December 11th due to two postponements and our scheduled fixture last Saturday with Beaconsfield Town being brought forward and played in November and have had to contend with training twice a week in the three weeks.

With Bradley Gray and James Guthrie departing the club in the week before Christmas, with Bradley looking as though he’s going to sign for Cirencester Town and James actually signing for Thatcham Town last week, manager Lee Spalding has secured the signature of midfielder George Dowling who will be in today’s squad along with all the other players as there are no injuries to report.
