Swindon Supermarine Supporters’ Forum Summary

March 12 2026

Swindon Supermarine held a Supporters’ Forum on 12 March 2026 to discuss ways of strengthening supporter engagement and building closer connections between the club and the community. The meeting was attended by 26 people, including supporters, board members, and the first-team management team.

The discussion focused on three areas: what the club is doing well, what could be improved, and **ideas for future development.

What Supporters Value

Supporters highlighted the welcoming and friendly atmosphere at the club as one of its greatest strengths. The positive relationship between players, management and supporters was also praised, alongside the commitment of matchday staff and volunteers.

The quality of matchday catering from Emma Masi and Jess Bufton received positive feedback, while the “Fun Bus” initiative organised by Graham Cutler, which provides away travel for supporters, was also recognised as a valuable part of the club’s offer.

Recent enhancements in communication were welcomed, including manager interviews with Bobby Wilkinson on Swindon 105.5 and improved match updates on X from Alex White. The club will explore ways to continue the popular manager interview format.

Areas for Improvement

Supporters discussed opportunities to increase engagement with potential supporters in the town and to expand the club’s presence on social media to appeal to younger audiences.

Other suggestions included improving signage to the ground and turnstiles, scope to enhance disability access, increasing pre-match promotion, and providing more player features to help supporters get to know the squad better.

Making match footage or highlights available on platforms such as YouTube or social media was also raised.

Future issues

Several initiatives were suggested to help attract new supporters. These included “Pay What You Want” matches, “Bring a Friend” promotions and themed match days linked to events such as Non-League Day or Mother’s Day.

Supporters also suggested repeating the successful Friday night match initiative, promoting the ground’s public transport links, introducing cycle storage, and distributing promotional flyers locally ahead of the new season.

Community and Events

Developing stronger links with local schools was discussed, including offering free tickets and promoting matches through school partnerships.

Supporters also suggested making greater use of club facilities for social events such as quiz nights, speaker evenings or race nights, as well as promoting the end-of-season awards evening more strongly.

Encouraging supporters to stay in the bar after home matches, where players and staff are available to chat, was also highlighted. One way to perhaps get more people stay is a post match player of the match award.

A proposal from Martin Osman to introduce a “100 Club” fundraising initiative will also be explored.

Next Steps

The forum generated a wide range of ideas, and progress with these will depend on continued collaboration between supporters, volunteers, and the club. The meeting was useful but embedding some of the ideas above will need to be a community effort.

It was also agreed that the club will aim to hold three Supporters’ Forum meetings each season – at the start of the season, in late autumn, and at the end of the season.
