Swindon Supermarine v Chippenham Town Preview

Posted by Keith Yeomans

Supermarine vs Chippenham Town Preview:

We return to the Webbswood Stadium on Tuesday evening with a visit from National League South side Chippenham Town in a slightly earlier kick off at 7.30pm.

Marine picked up a win at Bishops Cleeve on Friday evening in blustery conditions, in what is our only away game of the pre-season schedule. Two unanswered first half goals, one from new signing Levi Irving, which was his first for the club along with a strike from a trialist put the icing on the cake in another positive workout as preparations for the new season continued.

Tuesday evening’s visitors, meanwhile, have spent their opening fixtures with a mixture of first team players, trialists and academy players gaining fitness in their three on-the-road outings.

They travelled to Yate Town on Saturday, where they won 1-0, also to Cribbs, where they drew 2-2 and finally in their main game at Hungerford Town, they lost 3-2, so have a mixed bag of results as they continue to work towards the start of their National League South campaign.

Parking & Travel:

Whilst we have FREE car parking for over 300 cars in our car park at the Webbswood Stadium, it does get very busy on matchdays so why not travel by public transport and then save the issue off finding a parking space!

We encourage our spectators to use the Stagecoach Number 7 bus from the town centre bus station, with a route via Groundwell Industrial Park and The Crown Inn at Stratton. It’s a twenty-three-minute bus ride to the last stop in the South Marston Industrial Estate (Exel stop).

Just ask the bus driver to stop for you at the bus stop for the Supermarine Sports Complex, and then it’s just a few minutes’ walk from there to the ground. This makes the Webbswood Stadium more accessible to all and has greener credentials, please try it!
