SWINDON DERBY IS NEARLY HERE

Marine are back in action at the Webbswood Stadium this Saturday as they take on Swindon Town in our annual preseason friendly, the turnstiles are open from 12:30 and kick off is at 15:00.

Marine continue with their pre-season schedule with a tough and regular visit from local friends down the road Swindon Town. Fresh from their respective victories at Cirencester Town and Melksham Town the two sides will be keen to keep the winning run going. Last season Marine were edged out 3-2 by a Harry McKirdy inspired Town team but will be looking to go one better this time around having retained the bulk of the side who finished strongly last season. Henry Spalding who scored that day is already off the mark in pre-season.

Team news is that Conor McDonagh is away on holiday and Harry Williams is nursing a thigh injury but hopes to be fit for this one. Everyone else is ready and chomping at the bit. Manager Lee Spalding stated ahead of the game; “This is always a great day for the club and hopefully we can get a full house in and give supporters of both sides an entertaining game of football. The players are very much looking forwards to it knowing there is no pressure on them to get a result. It is all about their work rate and performance. I want them to go out and really enjoy it but be disciplined when out of possession and look to use the game as a building block to build fitness levels – making sure we are one step closer to where we need to be when the season starts on August 6th.“

The Robins of course are under new management now with Scott Lindsey taking the helm from Ben Garner who departed to Charlton Athletic. They have already add new blood to the squad with Oscar Massey, Tyrese Shade, Reece Devine, Cian Harries and Jacob Wakeling plus loan players Sol Brynn and Ciaran Brennan who are all expected to play some part in Saturday’s encounter.

The turnstiles and all other facilities are open from 12:30pm, and you can still get your tickets online now and up to just before kick off, with a FREE matchday programme valued at £3 when you arrive with your online ticket at the ground. The admission prices for online tickets are as follows:
