Yate Town Preview

Swindon Supermarine return to action this Saturday 20th November at the Webbswood Stadium for a 3:00pm kick off in the PitchingIn Southern League Premier Division South against Yate Town
The Bluebells, who make the fairly short trip up the M4 under boss Paul Michael, currently sit in 8th place in the table and just outside the playoff spots by just three points but with several games in hand. Their recent league form has been excellent but this was perhaps helped by playing the last eight games at home including an FA Cup tie against National League side Yeovil Town where they met with a 5-0 reverse.
Up to last weekend the key man in the Yate side would have been top scorer Dave Sims-Burgess but he was snapped up by National League South side Bath City last weekend and his seems his boots will be filled by former Marine striker Luke Hopper, who usually either scores or gets sent off against us in the games against us since his departure. We of course also welcome back former striker Stuart Fleetwood to the club who has a new role as the player coach at Yate. Hopper may line-up against Ollie Mehew who is the current top scorer at Yate with six goals.
Supermarine have slipped out of the top half of the league in the last two months and now sit in 15th place in the table and only four points off the relegation spots and will be looking to turn things around on Saturday after moral boosting 1-1 draw at Truro City on Tuesday. They will have been heartened by this fine showing in midweek where they came close to picking up all three points against a side they have never beaten!
On Tuesday the side welcomed back Harry Williams to the fray after his loan spell at Cirencester Town and he looked rejuvenated and full of energy. Top scorer Kieran Phillips will also be looking to keep his run going having scored four goal in four games since his loan move from Bristol Rovers three weeks ago. The head to head record bodes well for Marine, in the thee previous encounters at home Marine have won two and drawn one, although last time out at Yate Town in February 2020 we were on the wrong end of a 2-0 scoreline.

It promises to be a classic encounter and we need your support more than ever to help carry us through to what would be a massive win.

Please come on down to the Webbswood Stadium! BRING A MATE and BUILD THE GATE!
