Club Update from Jez
Hi everyone,
After the video we put out last week, I’ve had so many messages from supporters. I just want to say thank you. It meant a lot to hear from so many of you, and it’s made me even more certain that regular communication is vital. This will be the first of a series of updates from me over the summer, to keep you informed on all areas of the club as we look ahead to next season.
Last week’s win in the Wiltshire Premier Shield meant we ended a disappointing season with a moment of real positivity. You could see what it meant to the players, and everyone connected to the club. It was a proud moment and a reminder of what we’re capable of. A glimpse of what I believe the future can be for this football club.
Since the departure of Stuart Fleetwood, I’ve been flooded with applications for the manager’s role. That has been the main focus for me and the board over the past week. I’ve already started speaking to people. We’re not rushing the process. We are clear on what we’re looking for. Someone who understands what this club stands for, who shares our values, and who wants to do things the right way. Someone who wants to be part of something long term.
I also want to thank Stuart once again for everything he gave the club. It was no pleasure saying goodbye, but I know he has a lot to offer the game, and I wish him the best in whatever comes next.
Alongside the manager search, we’re working through some of the bigger picture decisions I discussed in the video. That includes my own succession plans and ongoing discussions around future investment. These conversations are happening in the background and are being handled with care and clarity.
Behind the scenes, there is a clear plan in place. The board and I are fully aligned on where we’re going and how we get there.
There’s a lot going on and I’ll keep you updated as things progress. Thanks as always for your support.
