Didcot Town v Marine Preview
From Nick Taylor
After their battling comeback 3-3 draw against high-flying Salisbury on Easter Saturday at The Webbswood Stadium in front of a bumper Bank Holiday crowd, Stuart Fleetwood and his squad make the relatively short trip east to take on Didcot Town on Easter Monday in a must win game for Marine.
Following their 0-2 away defeat at fellow strugglers, Hanwell Town, on Saturday, the Railwaymen are now mathematically relegated and will face Marine with the pressure now off of them, whilst Fleetwood’s squad dropped two places despite the point gained on Saturday.
We now find themselves now only one place above the bottom four, two points above manager less Hayes & Yeading, who have two games in hand on Marine.
The two sides met at The Webbswood back on Saturday 30th December, Didcot taking the lead in an impressive first half performance, before an own goal followed by strikes from Jake Andrews, Ryan Campbell and Zach Kotwica secured the three points for Marine.
Looking ahead to the clash, Marine Boss Stuart Fleetwood rallied his troops, “It’s a crucial game in the hunt for survival. Three further points after the hard fought point to Salisbury will make it a successful weekend.”
Defender Ioan Richards, will be assessed prior to the game having been substituted second half on Saturday. Otherwise, Fleetwood has a full squad to select from.
