Manager Lee Spalding is pleased to announce the signing of experienced midfielder Ed Williams who played for neighbours Chippenham Town last season after returning from a spell in the USA with Rochester NY. Capturing the signing of Ed is a great achievement for the club as he has been pursued by several clubs over the last couple of months.
Ed started his career at his local club Cheltenham Town in 2013 and spent a short loan spell with Gloucester City in 2014 before joining them in a permanent move in 2015, where over three seasons he made a total 96 appearances and scored 14 goals.
In July 2018 he made the short move from Gloucester City to Kidderminster where he spent two seasons before joining EFL side Doncaster Rovers in August 2020, departing Rovers in February 2022 to travel to the USA for a eight-week loan spell with Rochester NY, before retuning to them in a permanent move in July 2022.
Ed returned to the country in early 2023 and signed for National League South side Chippenham Town in March 2023 until the end of last season and having had a number of approaches he has made a decision to sign for Marine this week.
Welcome to Marine Ed…
