Marine v Didcot Town Preview

Marine vs Didcot Town Preview:

We return to the Webbswood Stadium on Saturday, as the Railwaymen make the short trip to Wiltshire, kick off 3:00pm.

Marine return to the Webbswood Stadium on Saturday, licking their wounds from a Tuesday afternoon trip to Merthyr Town and knowing that they had little time to reflect on defeat as they take on the more important issue of a relegation six-pointer.

“We’re not fighting for promotion, we’re in a relegation scrap,” Head Coach Stuart Fleetwood told Supermarine Radio following Tuesdays defeat as attentions immediately turned to Saturday’s clash.

“It turns the game against Didcot Town into an even bigger game,” he concluded – and for where both clubs currently sit – it certainly does.

Neither club would have expected to find themselves where they are and neither are about to throw in the towel and despite dome brilliant results against the top sides – following defeat at the hands of Dorchester Town at the start of the month, Marine will know they will face another battle at the weekend.

Current Positions:

Swindon Supermarine - 19th place - P22-W5-D5-L12 20pts
vs
Didcot Town - 22nd place - P21-W2-D5-L14 11Pts

We’ll have the latest edition of our match day magazine available at the turnstile entrance – featuring the views of Head Coach Stuart Fleetwood, Nick Taylor rounds up December and Pete Crockett puts our current situation in perspective. Supermarine Radio:

Marine supporters John-Luke and Chris will also be hosting live online commentary from the game via their fan-based Supermarine Radio.

Coverage is due to get under way at 2.30pm so if you can’t get to the game, give them a listen on Mixlr

Parking & Travel:

Whilst we have FREE car parking for over 300 cars in our car park at the Webbswood Stadium, it does get very busy on matchdays so why not travel by public transport and then save the issue off finding a parking space!

We encourage our spectators to use the Stagecoach Number 7 bus from the town centre bus station, with a route via Greenbridge Retail Park and The Crown Inn at Stratton. It’s a twenty-three-minute bus ride to the last bus stop in the South Marston Industrial Estate (Exel stop).

Just ask the bus driver to stop for you at the bus stop for the Supermarine Sports Complex, and then it’s just a few minutes’ walk from there to the ground. This makes the Webbswood Stadium more accessible to all and has greener credentials, please try it!
