Marine v Walton & Hersham Preview

Marine vs Walton & Hersham Preview:

We return to the Webbswood Stadium for the final time this month, this weekend, with a visit from the playoff position chasing Swans, kick off 3:00pm.

After securing their place in the Final of the Wiltshire Premier Shield on Tuesday evening, the boys return to league action this Saturday afternoon, looking to add to their points tally and make it four wins in a row, as they continue their fight to ensure their Southern Premier South status is preserved.

Speaking about the game following Tuesday evenings match, Head Coach Stuart Fleetwood told Supermarine Radio’s John-Luke: “It’ll be a good game and we’re looking forward to being at home again so we’ll be looking to continue the good run of form that we’re on.

“I’ll be doing my homework on Walton and watching their videos this week and seeing what we’ll come up against – it’s going to be another important game for us because we’ve got a tough run in the fixtures for the rest of January now and on the back of a great win at Beaconsfield Town last Saturday its important that we back it up with a good home performance.

“They’re doing really well this year and play some fantastic football but I think it is going to be an interesting game with two footballing sides and we’re going to have to look after a few bodies this week as I played a strong side Tuesday evening, but hopefully everyone will be rested and recovered by Saturday and we’ll be really looking forward to it.”

Parking & Travel:

Whilst we have FREE car parking for over 300 cars in our car park at the Webbswood Stadium, it does get very busy on matchdays so why not travel by public transport and then save the issue off finding a parking space!

We encourage our spectators to use the Stagecoach Number 7 bus from the town centre bus station, with a route via Greenbridge Retail Park and The Crown Inn at Stratton. It’s a twenty-three-minute bus ride to the last bus stop in the South Marston Industrial Estate (Exel stop).

Just ask the bus driver to stop for you at the bus stop for the Supermarine Sports Complex, and then it’s just a few minutes’ walk from there to the ground. This makes the Webbswood Stadium more accessible to all and has greener credentials, please try it!
