Marine v Weston-super-Mare Preview

Match Preview from Mike Wray

Marine return to the Webbswood Stadium this Saturday coming for the first of three home games scheduled in February, with this one being a ’BIG ONE’ against the league leaders, Weston-super-Mare, kick off 3:00pm.

Marine 10th P22-W11-D3-L8 36pts
Weston-super-Mare 1st P23-W18-D2-L3 56Pts

Despite suffering a 1-0 home defeat against Truro City as 1st played 2nd last weekend. The Seagulls still hold a one-point lead at the top of the standings as they arrive at the Webbswood Stadium as well as having two games in hand over their title chasing rivals Truro City. Manager Scott Bartlett will be insisting his side return to winning ways as we head towards the business end of the campaign.

Marine enter the match on the back of a mid-week exit in the Wiltshire Premier Shield, however the 2-1 score at the hands of Westbury United will be of little concern to manager Lee Spalding or his players, as they dominated throughout, if a little more shot-shy than we’ve become accustom too in front of the net and on the back of two straight league wins, off-days have been few and far between this season so you can guarantee the players will be up for this occasion.

Marine leading goalscorer: Harry Williams / 23 league goals
Weston-super-Mare leading goalscorer: Dayle Grubb / 18 league goals
