Merthyr v Marine Preview
Monday 25th December 2023
Merthyr Town v Marine Preview:
We head in to Wales this Boxing Day as we pay a visit to Penydarren Park, kick off 3:00pm.
Supermarine will travel down the M4 on Boxing Day out of the relegation zone for the first time this season, and on the back of a run which has produced six wins, a draw and just one defeat in their last eight games, however following Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Bracknell Town, Head Coach Stuart Fleetwood cut short celebrations by insisting that nothing is won yet, all that has been achieves so far, is a chance of remaining in the division.
Speaking to Supermarine TV following the win, he said: “We’ve got no problems going there, it’s going to be a massive crowd, it’s a big fixture and they’re flying high so I’ve got no problems with the players being up for this one as they were for Gosport Borough and Chesham United.
“I’ve told the player to enjoy their Christmas Day – hopefully not too much, we’ll go there with a game plan and its going to be two footballing teams. We’re going to have to go there with a belief in what we do, which is really important and like I’ve said – we’re going to go in to every game trying to win it.”
