Metropolitan Police v Marine Preview

Match Preview from Mike Wray

Our penultimate game of the month sees us heading to Surrey as we take on Metropolitan Police on Tuesday evening, kick off is 7:45pm. There’s another massive game instore for Marine on Tuesday evening, as Lee Spalding’s side face Met Police on the road and with both sides looking to secure a spot in the end of season playoffs, you can expect another exciting game.

Having seen his side earn a 3-3 draw against Tiverton Town at the weekend, manager Lee Spalding is expecting anything but an easy ride. “We’ve got eight games to go and I said to the players make sure you prepare properly for Tuesday because we’ve got a real tough one against Met Police coming up,” he told Supermarine TV.

“They’re always very well organised, they’re a very good side and they’re up there as well and chasing us. “They’ll be very keen to make ground up on us and it’s important that we go there and we put in a really good performance if we’re going to get anything from the game, that’s key and obviously our main focus.”

Our host meanwhile have come through a tough period unscathed, and having picked up a brilliant point away against league leaders Weston-super-Mare at the weekend, Met boss Gavin MacPherson quickly turned his attention to the game, telling his clubs media: “It’s going to be a really, really tough game.

“We don’t have any easy games at this level, but our run-in invites what you would say are the bigger hitters in the league. A lot of teams that are ‘up there in and around it’, and but we look forward to these types of teams, I’m not saying you win every game, I’m not making any wild predictions, but it’s great for us to pit our wits, plan and prepare and see if we’ve got it right on the actual match day.”
