Big Bower is back
Swindon Supermarine are pleased to announce the return of 6ft 7inch centre back Matt Bower, ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Matt joined the team in February and instantly made himself known with a man of the match performance on debut against Winchester City, and scored a 91st minute header against Didcot Town on Easter Monday that proved to be vital in last seasons final day escape.
Strong and composed, Bower is equally as impressive on the ball as he is with his head and Stuart Fleetwood told club media, “Matt Bower came to us not having kicked a ball in 18 months. He grew into the season and showed his real quality.
At 6ft 7inches he’s a real handful physically but his technique and calmness on the ball is unmatched at this level. A great bloke and that goal at Didcot was a pivotal moment in our survival.“
