Supermarine vs Taunton Preview:

We host our final preseason friendly this coming Friday evening, with a visit from the Peacocks, kick off 7.45pm.

There’s one final time for Lee Spalding to cast his eyes over his players this Friday evening, before deciding on his starting eleven in next week’s season opener against Poole Town.

With several players being confirmed on the roster in recent weeks, it will be another chance for them to gain some vital match fitness ahead of what should be another entertaining season.

Our visitors have played six preseason fixtures thus far, recording four wins, 3-0 against Clevedon Town, 1-0 against Cribbs, 2-0 against Willand Rovers, a 1-1 raw away at Plymouth Parkway and a 2-0 defeat against Exeter City.

so will have plenty of game experience in their legs and no matter what the result of the game is, both sides will expect to have a tough run out with the start of the new campaign just around the corner.

Keeping up-to-date on game day:

If you can’t join us at the game, you can follow the action via our official Twitter account @SupermarineFC, where we will have regular updates throughout the match courtesy of Pete Crockett. We’ll have half-time and full-time updates on Facebook.

Match Programme:

We will not have Match Programme’s on sale for our preseason games this month, but they will return for the start of our Southern League Premier South campaign starting with Poole Town on Saturday August 5th 2023.

Parking & Travel:

Whilst we have FREE car parking for over 300 cars in our car park at the Webbswood Stadium, it does get very busy on matchdays so why not travel by public transport and then save the issue off finding a parking space!

We encourage our spectators to use the Stagecoach Number 7 bus from the town centre bus station, with a route via Greenbridge Retail Park and The Crown Inn at Stratton. It’s a twenty-three-minute bus ride to the last bus stop in the South Marston Industrial Estate (Exel stop).

Just ask the bus driver to stop for you at the bus stop for the Supermarine Sports Complex, and then it’s just a few minutes’ walk from there to the ground. This makes the Webbswood Stadium more accessible to all and has greener credentials, please try it!
