Swindon Supermarine v Walton & Hersham Preview
Wednesday 9th August 2023
Walton & Hersham v Swindon Supermarine Preview:
We take our first road trip of 2023/24 this coming Saturday afternoon when we face the Swans, kick off 3pm.
Supermarine will be looking to get their August off the mark when they travel to the Elmbridge Sports Hub on Saturday afternoon, in what was always going to be a difficult opening month following the release of the season schedule.
With a tough trip to Salisbury to follow on Tuesday evening, tailgated by games against Gosport Borough, Bracknell Town and then Merthyr Town.
Manager Lee Spalding and his players will have taken a lot of lessons from their heavy opening day defeat at the hands of promotion hopefuls Poole Town and will have outlined the costly errors as the side look to move forward and bounce back.
The Swans found their game abandoned last Saturday as the heavens opened during their fixture at Winchester City and will be glad that they lived to fight another day given they were trailing 2-0.
Entering their debut season at Step 3, there is a great deal of optimism around the Surrey based club, who will be looking to gain their first points of the campaign in front of home fans.
But the Marine players and management will also be looking for a reaction to set the record straight and will have learned a lot from the experience of last weekend and certainly have enough talented players among their ranks to pick themselves up and produce the performance we know they are capable of.
