Town keeper Conor Brann signs Supermarine

Head Coach Stuart Fleetwood announced today that Swindon Supermarine are delighted to welcome goalkeeper Conor Brann to the Webbswood Stadium, after a three-month loan deal with neighbours Swindon Town was completed this morning.

The 20-year-old has made the temporary move from SN1 having joined the Football League side during September 2022 following his release from League of Ireland First Division side, Galway United.

Talking about the signing, Head Coach Stuart Fleetwood said: “Conor is a goalkeeper who needs games at this stage of his career and we are here to facilitate that with our great relationship with Swindon Town. “He’s tall, good with his feet and most of all, hungry to play games. “It’s a great addition to our squad and will be of great benefit to us.”

Having penned a two-year deal with Town in 2022, the shot-stopper saw his game time restricted following an accident during the opening twelve-months, however having returned to full training and playing a part against Swindon Supermarine in our annual pre-season friendly fixture at the start of July, the player is fully focussed on gaining regular game time.

Speaking to the Swindon Advertiser after featuring for Town during a friendly at Melksham Town back in July, the player told them: “I’m progressing well, but I still have so much more to go. I’m still only young, and with Mildy (Steve Mildenhall) the goalkeeper coach at Swindon Town I know I will keep progressing and we’ll see what happens this year.

“I obviously need to play games the preseason friendlies were my first games for a year due to injury, which is a long time, but I think I’m doing well. “The experience of the first team is good for training, but if you’re not playing games then you need to go and do that.”

Conor will be available for selection for Saturday afternoon’s Southern League Premier South fixture for Marine at Tiverton Town, kick off 3pm.
