Young defender signs for Marine

Swindon Supermarine have signed young defender Toby Raison from Southern League One South side, Evesham United.

The 21-year-old commanding central defender originally came through the Hereford FC Youth system and enjoyed two years with the senior team where he also headed out on loan with Merthyr Town and Bromsgrove Sporting.

He then made the switch to Yate Town last season before joining Evesham United this term. He went on to make eight appearances and scored one goal for the Robins.

Speaking after securing the players signature, Head Coach Stuart Fleetwood said: “I worked with Toby when he was at Yate and he is a very tall, very athletic ball playing centre-half – something I’ve been looking for so I’m delighted to be working with him again.”

Having been brought on as a substitute in the Robins penalty shootout defeat at the hands of Bashley in the previous round, Toby is unfortunately cup-tied so will not be available for selection on Saturday against Basingstoke Town, however he will be available to make the trip the following weekend when we face Basingstoke Town in our next league fixture, at the Winklebury Football Complex.
