Beaconsfield v Marine Preview

Beaconsfield v Marine Preview:

We open our New Year account with a trip to Buckinghamshire on Saturday afternoon, kick off 3:00pm.

Marine take part in another relegation battle on Saturday with a trip to Holloways Park. Despite being winless in their previous six, Marine won’t be taking their opponents lightly as they narrowly lost to top of the table Chesham 2-1 and grabbed a deep in to injury time point from promotion chasing Hungerford Town to prove that they’re more than a match for anyone at this level on their day, but two straight defeats will mean that Marine will underestimate them at their peril.

With just one win in their last ten fixtures, a frustrated assistant manager Sam Togwell told his clubs media team that they’ll just have to keep plugging away until that next win comes. “Every game from now on until we get this all-important win is a big game, he said following last weekend’s 2-0 defeat at Hanwell Town.

“We’ve got Swindon Supermarine at home then Merthyr Town away – they’re two massive games, but we’ll take them as they come. We’ll build on the positives from the last few games where we’ve picked up a point but we need to turn half-decent performances in to winning performances.”

Marine will of course have new signing Shea Mannings available for selection having joined the club earlier this week from Roman Glass St George, and will be looking to build on last weekend’s 4-1 win over Didcot Town and hopefully go one better than the 3-3 draw that the two sides played out at the Webbswood Stadium back September.
