Preview v Poole Town

Posted by Keith Yeomans

Match Preview from Mike Wray

We host our penultimate home game of the campaign with a visit from the Dolphins on Wednesday evening, kick off 7.45pm.

Mathematically at this stage of the campaign, the Dolphins are the only remaining side in the playoff spaces that we could replace, but we’d need to win our remaining two games AND overcome a 13-goal deficit!

But whatever happens, 2022/23 is set to be the clubs highest ever finish in the standings so Lee Spalding and his men will be looking to do just that. A point from the game will be enough to confirm Poole Town in fifth place.

Speaking after the weekend’s victory in Yate, the Supermarine manager said: “We’re at the stage where we’re very unlikely to get in a playoff position, but I said to the lads it’s important that we finish the season well and we are positive in our last two games at home, both against teams who will be in the playoff’s so lets finish the season on a high.”

League Standings:

Marine 6th P40-W21-D8-L11 71pts
