Swindon Supermarine Goalkeeper Coach Rhys Evans has announced that following a discussion with Head Coach Stuart Fleetwood this morning, he is stepping away from the club to allow a fresh input in line with the new era.

Hampshire based Rhys first joined the club during the 2018/19 pre-season having coached at Wimborne Town, Salisbury, Hereford and Barnet eventually leaving the club to take up a role at the start of last season with Yate Town but returned at the start of this term under former manager Lee Spalding.

Following the departure of the former boss, Rhys took on the role of caretaker manager alongside defender Jamie Edge until the appointment of new Head Coach Stuart Fleetwood and his Assistant Coach, Dan Gillespie.

In a post on his X account this morning, Rhys stated: “This morning following a discussion with the manager, I have decided to step away from @SupermarineFC. “Time for fresh input in line with managers new era. “Some great people at the club (some who do it for very little or no money) and I wish them well.”

Rhys played an important role during a challenging time at the club and everyone involved with Swindon Supermarine thank Rhys for all of his efforts during his two spells and we wish him all the very best for the future.
