Dowling Departs

Swindon Supermarine and Stuart Fleetwood are disappointed to announce that tough-tackling midfielder, George Dowling has left the club via mutual consent.

On the departure, Fleets told club media, “George is obviously a terrific player at this level. We made an offer that was probably below what George was or is worth. This was down to the trust in his fitness levels over the past season. He is a player who will no doubt play at a good level in the future and leaves us with our best wishes and nothing but respect from both parties. He is a terrific person and someone I hold in high regard”.

George will no doubt be remembered for the hat trick he scored against Dartford in the FA Trophy in November 2022 as well as being committed in the tackle and a threat going forward, and has been a popular member within the squad and with the fans in his time here.

It goes without saying that we are immensely grateful for the time and effort George has given to Marine and he leaves the club after making 72 appearances, scoring 8 goals. Thank you for the memories, George.
