Winchester City v Marine Preview

Match Preview from Mike Wray

We venture in to Hampshire on Saturday afternoon, as we prepare to face the Citizens for the third time this season, kick off 3:00pm.

Supermarine extended their unbeaten league run to ten games on Tuesday evening to 6 wins and 4 draws, and will be hoping to make it eleven come the final whistle on Saturday afternoon, as they look to keep up the pressure in the race for a playoff place come the end of next month.

Meanwhile, our hosts can also boast a run of good form, having suffered just one defeat in their last seven games, with 3 wins and 3 draws, as they look to avoid entering a relegation battle and speaking after his sides 1-1 draw at Hartley Wintney, manager Craig Davis said: “We didn’t play particularly well, but we once again showed character to come from behind.

“It keeps the momentum going, wins and points are hard to come by and we’ve got an incredibly tough run of games coming up over the next three games. We are home to Marine and Weston-super-Mare and then away to Chesham United, so it was incredibly important for us to get that few-points buffer over the clubs below us, because I’m sure points will be really tough to get in the next few games. Not that we go in to any games “not fancying it”, but if we’re realistic, two of the top three and Swindon who are seventh, it’s going to be tough few games.”
